So what does it take to plan a flower budget for a wedding? A realistic budget would start with your guest count. Consider the number of guests you are inviting and the tables needed to sit them (usually 8 guests/per table). Keep in mind that a larger ceremony and reception space will drive up costs.
Another aspect to consider is hiring a professional planner. An experienced event planner will provide you details on the cost of a caterer, florist, photographer, DJ, and an officiant. This will save you tons of time without chasing misunderstood quotes from all over town.
Now, look at your overall estimated budget for your wedding. Do your research on a realistic overall wedding budget and add about another 40% from what you thought it will cost! It's always good to be under budget, but most times couples face unexpected changes or adjustments. Better safe than sorry!
Once you have the wedding budget set, now we can talk flowers! (The following % includes the flowers, design, delivery etc.)
1. If you don’t like flowers but need some sort of decor and at least bridal flowers, your looking at 10% -15% of your total wedding budget!
2. If you like flowers, 15%-25% of your wedding budget.
3. If you are the very special ones that treat themselves, then your 30% + would help you achieve a style of lush and elaborate that you deserve!
